Periodontology deals with treating supporting structures of teeth. As a rule, a gum disease is caused by inappropriate or insufficient oral hygiene. It starts with gum bleeding, the condition called gingivitis. Gingivitis may be treated by a thorough oral hygiene and regular visits to a dental hygienist. When gingivitis remains unnoticed and untreated, its effects can aggravate and the condition can turn into a serious gum disease called periodontitis, where ligaments and bones supporting teeth gradually degrade, the teeth may loosen and fall out. So, it is crucial to pay attention to your oral health and seek specialists’ help early.
The therapy starts with tests which help determine the sequence of treatment stages. In our clinic, we offer periodontal deep cleaning (root planing). To treat this condition, we use the innovative PRF technique.

PRF – innovative therapy

Innovative I-PRF and A-PRF techniques are used for regeneration of tissues affected by periodontal disease. I-PRF stands for injectable platelet rich fibrin. And A-PRF means advanced injectable platelet rich fibrin. PRF is collected from the patient’s own blood; no anticoagulants or other chemicals are added to the material. This is a harmless and safe technique without side effects and without any risk of allergies or infections.

Periodontal procedures in our clinic are performed by dentist Alvis Šapals.
